Waterfield Preschool welcomes children from Grade RRR to ECD B, providing a warm, nurturing, and stimulating start to their educational journey. Our goal is to offer the highest standard of early childhood education, helping young learners develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
We follow a well-rounded, developmentally appropriate curriculum benchmarked against recognised early learning standards. With engaging play-based learning, age-appropriate technology integration, and caring educators, we ensure every child builds strong foundations for future learning and personal growth.
Our learning approach encourages children to ask questions, share their ideas, and build on what they already understand—while discovering new concepts along the way.
We nurture creative problem-solving and early reasoning skills, helping children develop independence, confidence, and a lifelong love for learning.
Our early years programme prepares young learners with the essential social, emotional, and academic foundations they need for a smooth transition into formal schooling in Grade 1.

Teaching and learning at our school are built around a modern approach that places each child at the centre of their own growth. We encourage learners to question, make sense of new ideas, and confidently put their knowledge into practice. Throughout their school experience, students develop the essential skills needed for an ever-changing future.

Our early years programme focuses on developing the whole child. We nurture physical coordination, early reasoning abilities, language development, and foundational numeracy in a structured yet playful environment. Learners are encouraged to think critically, explore different ways to solve problems, and choose strategies that work best for them.
Children learn to express their ideas through:
Meaningful conversations and guided reflection
Opportunities to make choices and take ownership of their learning
Creative activities such as drawing, painting, building, and designing
Hands-on experiences including baking, music, movement, and dramatic play
Imaginative role-play that builds confidence and communication
To ensure each child is prepared for the transition into formal schooling, a school-readiness assessment is conducted in the ECD B.
Our approach to early education recognises that every child learns in their own way. We design personalised learning experiences that help each student grow into a confident, well-rounded individual.
Growing Strong Bodies – Children engage in outdoor challenges and movement-based activities that strengthen balance, coordination, and gross-motor skills the building blocks for future academic learning.
Building Confidence and Relationships – Our teachers cultivate a warm, supportive environment where children feel safe, valued, and understood. Through daily routines and guided interactions, learners build resilience, confidence, and positive relationships with others.
Thinking, Exploring, and Understanding - Our programme encourages young learners to explore ideas, ask questions, and make connections. Foundational skills in numeracy, early literacy, and life skills are developed through themed explorations and inquiry activities that stretch thinking beyond the classroom.
Creativity in Motion – Art, music, movement, and imaginative play are woven into daily learning experiences. These creative opportunities help children express their ideas, build self-esteem, and develop an appreciation for the arts
We recognise play as a powerful tool for learning. Through purposeful, well-designed play experiences, children investigate, experiment, discover, and make sense of the world around them. Their natural curiosity is nurtured, and learning becomes joyful, meaningful, and memorable.
Our school encourages children to participate in a wide variety of activities both inside and outside the classroom. These experiences help develop teamwork, leadership, creativity, and good sportsmanship.
The following sports and cultural activities are offered as part of our school fee structure:
